NEWSLETTER MOUNTAINS OF LOVE 2017
As always the children enjoy their days in school in a safe environment with education, food, love and hope.
Our Team in La Ceiba is working hard providing food, support and hope to the children at the Emilia D’Cuire SpecialNeeds School, La Ceiba, Honduras. Currently the food program is feeding between 120 and 150 needy and hungry children daily. Here is our annual update:
2017 has been a good year as we continue to nurture the children in the school and help where needed. We have a good relationship with the staff, the cook and the parents who help us in the kitchen and serving the children and they are loving their work with the needy. The discretionary fund we keep available in case of unforeseen medical needs has only been used once so far.
We have now improved the water conditions, repaired the cistern and cleaned the pipes, in some classrooms were equipped with buckets to store water and thus clean the bathrooms. With the change of the water cistern, water in the kitchen does not fail and the food is done without major inconveniences. The preparation of the food is made with purified water for the safety measures of the children. This costs $1.00 for 5 gallons and they use 1 per day. We thought you would like to see one of the weekly menus which Mountains of love produces. When the pipes and filters do not work, the neighboring building happily shares their water. It is the nature of a day in Honduras to work through these challenges and come out smiling.
Here in the Vail Valley we would like to hear from you and know if you would like to become involved with Mountains of Love. We have many new ideas to raise funds to support our children and we need more help. We will never turn down any offerings of help or financial support.
